  Keynote Speaker

The Seattle chapter of NIRI is pleased to announce H. Stewart Parker, President and CEO of Targeted Genetics Corporation (NASDAQ: TGEN) will be the keynote speaker for the 2008 Investor Communications Awards Gala. Targeted Genetics, a Seattle biotechnology company, develops gene based treatments for acquired and inherited disease.

Ms. Parker has held the position of CEO since the Company's inception and has raised over $350 million to fund the Company's research programs. Prior to forming Targeted Genetics, from 1981 to 1992, she held various positions at Immunex Corporation, ending her tenure there as Vice President, Corporate Development and President, CEO, and Board member of Receptech Corporation. Ms. Parker serves on the board of directors or advisory boards of 11 organizations and is a founding member of the Women's Bioethics Project.

The Seattle chapter has decided to add an annual report best in show award honoring the keynote speaker's industry. This year there will be an award given to the best biotechnology/pharmaceutical/healthcare annual report.
